Phil Younger & The Brew


A Singe/Songwriter from Melbourne, Australia whose music relies heavily on traditional country music, but is highly influenced by other styles. The sound is new and fresh, (no hay bales here).

Last year Concrete Jungle Cowboys a 12 track fully original album was recorded and released. The title track charted at No.2 in the UK Charts and also in Europe. The video clip for this particular song has just been finished and will be released shortly. The boys are little bit rebellious and are not slow in coming forward calling a ‘spade a spade’. This has put a few Industry heads’ noses out of joint and rattled a few cages, but hey someone’s got to keep the bastards honest.
As with all solid song writing the 12 originals here are based on Younger’s own life experiences, and draw on a profusion of styles ranging from trad country to blues, all delivered by the singer’s impressive baritone vocals. The shuffling Luck’s A Lonely Lady, the steel-laced Take Away Train and the driving Sweet Jillyroo, which tells of a hardworking cowgirl, who delight in tantalising the fellas down at the local barroom, but the overall impression is one of uniqueness and originality.
